Swami Tapovan Maharaj (1889 - 1957) is one of the most renowned saints of the 20th century. He was a contemporary of Swami Sivananda Maharaj. He was a Hindu sage and Vedanta scholar.
Swami Sundaranand was a Siddhayogi. His life was inextricably linked with the Himalayas. He sought and found God in the midst of the serene beauty of the Himalayas.
The Tapovanam Maharaj Trust is dedicated to the memory of Swami Sri Tapovanam Maharaj. It has been set up with the purpose of preserving and presenting the life and works of Swami Tapovanam Maharaj and his disciple, Swami Sundaranand ji, for today and posterity. The trust also owns and looks after the Tapovanam Hiranyagarbha Art Gallery and Museum situated at Gangotri.
The Tapovanam Hiranyagarbha Kala Dirgha is dedicated to the memory of Sri Tapovanam Maharaj, Guruji of Swami Sundaranand ji. Built with the purpose of preserving and presenting the life and works of Swami Sundaranand ji and his Guruji - Tapovanam Maharaj for today and posterity. The gallery, the largest of its kind in the region, exhibits rare and unique photographs of the Gangotri region and the Garhwal

स्वामीजी के कला दीर्घा में आकर लग रहा है कि सारे हिमालय पर्वत श्रृंखला से रूबरू हो गया। हिमालय कि चोटियों से लेकर यहां की वनस्पतियो पर स्वामीनी का कार्य अतुलनीय है। गंगोत्री धाम आने वाले सारे तीर्थ यात्रियों को यहाँ जरूर आना चाहिए| महेश सर की गर्मजोशी दिल को छू गई।
